Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Pre-production Stage:
During this stage for our preliminary we had limited time to research and create our idea, As we only had 30 minutes to plan, this meant we had limited time to think on all location, cast and script which . Due to the lack of time and preparation, this lead to our preliminary to look less organised and professional as it lacked in in depth and high quality standards which are key when filming. With our thriller opening however, we had one week to plan a long with 2 weeks of film time giving use the a much longer time to plan our concept and many other things such as script, camera shots and angles narrative and location.By now having a full depth of research in every aspect of pre-production, we were more prepared to film as a group due to goof organisation. For out thriller opening, we did however think more towards camera works and the types of shots we could also take between scenes. Good prime examples would be the manual focus used to focus from the wall to then focusing on Keiley when she leaves her house. This involved manual focus and by using this it gave the user more control on what he wants to focus on during filming.
Production stage:
This for both the preliminary and out thriller opening come out to be very similar as in both tasks we were able to use the same equipment for recording. This would have been the camera, microphone and tripod. However we were able to use more advanced equipment during filming for out thriller as we also things such as lights and especially a dolly for example. Another thing that came to our attention when filming for our thriller opening was how to use specific settings on our camera to get the desired look we wanted such as changing the ISO, aperture and shutter speed. As we wanted to film scenes in low light areas this made us increase the ISO and when we wanted a more shallow depth of field, this made us decrease the aperture number.
Post-production stage:

Match on action:

Overall i have learnt more on editing and that it is not all about the visual effects. It has made me understand how sound plays a massive role in making a film look more realistic and believable. I have also learnt how to change the settings on my camera to fit the desired look I want to achieve whether it is to adjust the ISO, aperture or shutter speed. On a side note, i have found out how important it is to work as a group in a film making process as this is key to achieve good shots. E.g. one person is recording whilst others are holding lights put together to film one shot.
